Tampa’s 6th annual Gaspirilla Criterium+Cycling Festival presented by Cigar City Brewing and Bright House Networks is here and it’s bigger and better than ever.
Over 600 cyclists and 20,000 spectators will descend upon downtown Tampa for the sixth annual Gasparilla Criterium + Cycling Festival presented by Cigar City Brewing and Bright House Networks on Saturday, March 29 from 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. One of Florida’s premiere cycling events and part of the USA CRITS Championship Series, the Gasparilla Criterium + Cycling Festival features a full day of fun and intense action, including men’s and women’s professional criterium races in the evening and the Cycling, Multi-sport, Health and Welness Expo presented by SeaSucker Bicycle Racks and Reeves Import Motorcars throughout the day. Also schedule are amateur criterium races, children’s races, the tbt* 3K Beer Dash, and an autograph session with pro cyclists.
While the bike races may be the centerpiece of the day’s event, they’re by no means the only attractions. With street vendors, the Cycling, Multi-sport, Outdoor, Health and Wellness Expo, the Kids Criterium and more, the Gasparilla Criterium+Cycling Festival is one of Tampa Bay’s most family-friendly events.
For those who find running more to their liking, the festival offers an event crafted especially for them. The tbt* Beer Dash is a 3-kilometer race that follows the same course used by the cyclists.
Of course, the creators of the Gasparilla Criterium+Cycling Festival understand that being a spectator isn’t all fun and games – an average person will burn more than 120 calories per hour while watching those cyclists! To satisfy all those grumbling tummies, the race course was designed to wind its way past many of the city’s best eateries. So whatever cuisine you enjoy, you have the best seat in the house. When you get thirsty, don’t forget to stop by the “portable” Cigar City Brewery and raise a glass of one of their many tasty brews.
